Payless ShoeSource, the nation's leading specialty footwear retailer, announced today that it is launching a new logo specifically designed to support the company's strategic direction to democratize footwear and accessory fashion and inspire fun fashion possibilities for the family.

From bras and babysuits equipped with monitors to tough suits to protect sportsmen and adventurers from the hazards of life on Earth, space technology is boldly pushing back fashion frontiers.
"The space programme has over the years provided a catalyst for a lot of the progress we are seeing today in textiles," said David Raitt, technology transfer and promotions officer with the European Space Agency (ESA).

ESA has spent years developing lightweight fabrics to reduce the cost of space missions, with every kilo launched into space costing 10,000 euros, Rait said at the opening of an exhibition of space technology clothing here.
The result has been some materials which are 100 times stronger than steel but which weigh almost nothing at all, many of which are capable of withstanding gr

Modernseed has exclusively reissued six classic designs from Alexander Girard, often acknowledged as one the most important American furniture and textile designers of the 20th Century.
Best known for his work as the head of textile design at Knoll from 1952 until the mid-1970s and the celebrated redesign of Braniff Airlines in 1965, Girard often found inspiration in his passion for folk art (together with his wife Susan they amassed a collection of more than 100,000 items that was donated to the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe).
This inspiration led to the use of bright colors and whimsical patterns in his work.
