A YKK Education in the Art of FasteningYKK wants to give visibility, support and a voice to young designers.
To this aim YKK came together with the event organisers to help create ITS Accessories.
ITS Accessories, in partnership with YKK, is now in its third edition, confirming its position as an important international competition in the field of accessories design.
It remains the only contest of its kind in the world dedicated to all classes of accessories.
Fastenings are essential components of the design process and knowledge about how they function can radically alter the shape and structure of a garment or accessory.
YKK joins ITS to raise the profile of fastenings among the next generation of designers.
14-16 April 2008: a world-renowned panel of judges specifically chosen from the fields of fashion and accessories viewed a multitude of portfolios collected from all over the globe in Trieste, Italy.
14 finalists from 11 different nationalities were selected to forge an accessory with YKK products as the focal point in their creation.
