Luella Bartley Named Designer of the YearLuella Bartley, fashion's poster girl for Chelsea style and Cornwall cool, was crowned "Designer of the Year" at the British Fashion Awards in London.
Bartley, 34, is renowned for her quirky mix of alternative cheek and Establishment chic.
A former fashion journalist with Vogue and Dazed & Confused magazines and largely self-taught, she made her London Fashion Week debut in 1999, with a catwalk show entitled "Daddy, Who Were the Clash?".
A year later she began showing at New York Fashion Week, but made a triumphant return to LFW last September, when she also celebrated the opening of her flagship store in the capital.
