Brave New Worlds at Mercedes Fashion WeekKIWI label World took a walk on the wild side with bright block colours on the body and fabulously garish make-up at yesterday's third and final day of Mercedes Fashion Week.
But the true fashion highlight came from the New Generation 1 parade, which featured the hottest new designers on the block.
For such young minds, the catwalk spoke volumes on the exciting times ahead for such labels as Base, Spook, Moocha Bella and Stephanie by Conley & Cranford.
Base menswear was a homage to amazing cable knits, one in particular wrapped with leather strapping, which wouldn't be out of place tending goats on a rocky Mediterranean outcrop.
Spook continued the knitwear trend for the ladies with long-sleeve sheer knits while a blue and red tweed trench-coat with cherry silk lining was a gorgeous take on a wardrobe staple.
Moocha Bella's little red T-shirt dress could become a favourite among the nightclub set for its slinky vibe with Converse All Star trainers studded with sparkling diamantes worn on the feet.
Golden Square knitting queen Lorinda Grant struck a pose of a different kind with yoga dancers introducing the home-spun collection of wool wraps and hooded shoulder warmers.
Estate.red label's little jacket with covered buttons in fabulous tartans should be on every girl's winter 2005 wish list.
