Fur Makes Fashion Fun This SeasonFur.
Real or faux, it doesn't matter.
It's in, and in the most creative ways.
"Fur is absolutely on everything," says Helena Dove, the women's clothing buyer for Carlton's in Rehoboth Beach.
As would be expected, beautiful, full-length fur coats are available at Carlton's. But those aren't the only fur fashions that Dove, and others in the local fashion scene, have been talking about.
From fine stores such as Carlton's, to department stores and boutique women's specialty stores, fur has made its mark on handbags, scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters, jackets, coats and the presently popular ponchos.
Some is long and curly, or short and soft. Some is black. Some is brown. Some even comes in lime green and bright turquoise.
Some is fine, elegant and expensive. But a great deal of it is affordable and just plain fun.
"This is a fun year," says Sharee Sypinski who owns Sharee's in Rehoboth Beach.
"The fashions are wonderful. This is the best year since the early '80s."
Sypinski, whose shop not only is trendy but pretty affordable, cited the dangly jewelry, brooches, scarves and other creative accessories that add to an exciting season.
Sharee's has had a collection of fur-trimmed jackets this season that Sypinski said she's hardly been able to keep in stock.
