CFDA Announces 2006 CFDA Fashion Awards NominationsThe Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced yesterday that Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough for Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs have been nominated for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
The 2006 CFDA Fashion Awards winners will be announced at the annual gala, underwritten by Swarovski, on June 5th at The New York Public Library.
This year's gala will be hosted by Entourage star Jeremy Piven. The official announcement was made last night at an exclusive event at the Rooftop Gardens on top of Rockefeller Center, which was hosted by the CFDA Board of Directors and Nadja Swarovski.
In addition, Thom Browne, Ralph Lauren, and Alexandre Plokhov for Cloak have been nominated for the Menswear Designer of the Year award, while Tom Binns, Marc Jacobs for Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors have been nominated for the Accessory Designer of the Year award.
Doo-Ri Chung, Kate and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte, and Thakoon Panichgul have been nominated for Swarovski's Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear.
The nominees for Swarovski's Perry Ellis Award for Menswear are Steven Cox & Daniel Silver for Duckie Brown, Nathan Bogle, David Neville & Marcus Wainwright for Rag & Bone, and Jeff Halmos, Josia Lamberto-Egan, Sam Shipley and John Whitledge for Trovata.
