The best design advertising in the world will be immortalised with the publication of the D Annual 2008 on 18 September.
Designed by Neville Brody from Research Studios exclusively for D membership, the book is themed "Digital vs Anti Digital".
For the first time this year, all of the work will be published online, as well as in the iconic book.
The book includes hyperlinks to videos with judges from the D Awards 2008, interviews with creatives on the future of the industry, and most importantly, links directly to the work.
The online Annual is created by Kent Lyons and inspired in look and feel by the book design.
D members will be able to browse the online Annual by category, using predictive search, or by simply flicking through the pages from beginning to end.
D President Simon Waterfall said, "The theme of 'Digital vs Anti Digital' represents the evolution of the digital industry.
Clients and creatives are moving away from 'Can we do this technically?' to 'Should we do this for the brand?'.
Digital design today is more joined up, more integrated and more about brand behavior than bits and bytes - what a great time to be a part of this industry."
D membership can pick up their copy of The Annual at the launch on 18 September at the Royal College of Art in London.
The launch coincides with the opening of D's first exhibition of all 45 of its Annuals.

Pantone and the color experts at X-Rite Color Services today announced the fall schedule of the company's highly popular seminar, "Color Control Freak."
With a popular spring series completed, X-Rite's Color Control Freak '08 will again offer attendees an in-depth understanding of color, its value in the design process and techniques for proper reproduction.
Sponsored by Pantone, HP, Eizo and X-Rite, this one-day interactive seminar equips design professionals with the latest color knowledge and tools, exposing a new level of design freedom.
Industry experts will teach attendees basics in color trends and psychology, as well as how to collect, build and specify color that remains consistent from screen to print.
"Accurately capturing the desired color, and then reproducing it faithfully and consistently across communications in multiple media, is imperative for maintaining the integrity of any design project," said Richard Herbert, executive vice president and general manager of Pantone.

This exhibition shows contemporary practices of graphic design around a common theme, object.
When graphic design is released by the command and starts evolving by itself, the issue is the relationship they have with private space (at home) and public space (at everyone).
The graphical object is not a design object.
It doesn't serve a purpose but offers multiple uses.
Freed of practical constraints it becomes an object of language and creates a language which is aimed at all... Complement D'Objet Indirect.
The graphic artworks and "goodies" that will be displayed in the exhibition will address us with those essential art questions; where from and where to...

Self-initiated projects seem to become an increasingly important part in graphic design practice.
Young independent design studios and freelancers often state that their regular self-initiated projects inform their commissioned work and vice versa.
Many of these independent design studios define themselves as inter-, cross- and multi-disciplinary practitioners and many of them produce, manufacture and sell their very own sidelines - anything from toys to garments, fonts to wallpapers.
This is not only a commercial and entrepreneurial activity satisfying the individual needs for diversity but is often simply stated by designers as a great way to stay sane, fresh and creative.
Agathe Jacquillat and Tomi Vollauschek from London-based design studio FL@33 are currently compiling and designing an exciting new book entitled Made and Sold: Graphic Designer's Sidelines (working title) to be published worldwide by Laurence King Publishing in 2009.
This book will present the most exciting self-initiated projects created by a new generation of multi-disciplinary practitioners.
Eligible for possible inclusion are products that are produced as part of a one-off series or in editions of three or more and are self-initiated, commercial and entrepreneurial and produced / manufactured by the interdisciplinary practitioners (and their direct suppliers) and by designers who sell their products either directly (i.e. online) and/or work with selected stockists of their choice.
