Cryptozoology is the latest exhibition from the Primer collective, comprising of work by three successful graphic illustrators, Nils Davey and Simon Dovar from the award winning design company "Jawa and Midwich" and Andrew Groves from "I Make Things".
They return to The Pool exhibition space, after touring internationally in Tokyo and Dallas, with an exhibition that explores the themes of mythical creatures.
The collective is noted for the three distinct styles of its artists, finding their own way to investigate a collaboration of ideas and thought.
Their canvases are full of mythical beasts and fables yet display a keen awareness of the contemporary psyche, with its modern neuroses.
Groves' work creates scenes of angst-ridden monsters, Davey's beasts roam around in hysterical landscapes and Dovar's animals perform macabre acts on mankind.
17th May - 21st June.

From June 1st to June 25th, eight international exhibition designers will present their views of contemporary exhibition design in Platform 21, the international center for design, fashion and creativity in Amsterdam.
In the context of Exhibiting Now-On show!, the participating designers produce a virtual tour through one or more of their exhibitions that are currently on view somewhere in the world.
Exhibiting Now-On show! offers a unique opportunity to catch an inside glimpse of how museums function and it allows one to compare their different approaches.
If, for example, one designer claims he will never rely on text, another believes that more text is always better.
At Platform 21, the eight video shows, projected as a 360 degrees panorama, serve as starting point for various activities.

When The Colomer Group, a beauty industry leader in professional and consumer products, needed new attention - grabbing advertising and image campaigns for two of its Multicultural Division brands they commissioned Culture Advertising Design in Atlanta.
Culture A.D. brought an edgy image, which demonstrated hair texture as as a fashion statement, to the relaunching of Colomer's Professional brand Arosci (ah-ro-si).
For the consumer brand African Pride, Culture created an ad campaign, which was inclusive of the consumer's life, hair, self-concept, and style.
In the world of multicultural hair care advertising most campaigns focus on displaying hair benefits without considering other aspects of the consumers' interests.
The result is usually a print ad with a stiff, oversized head shot of a model and copy that highlights product features and hair benefits.
Culture A.D. wanted to bring something more to this industry's advertising.
"Through research we discovered that the target market for this industry is not just concerned with their hair, they consider their hair to be a key extension of their whole image.
Being Fashionable, self-concept, confidence, and total lifestyle is important to this end user." said Craig Brimm, the company's Creative Director.
