2006 How Perfect 10 Awards

2006 How Perfect 10 Awards

HOW magazine invites you to enter its newest juried design competition, the 2006 HOW Perfect 10 Awards.

Ten winners will be prominently featured in the December 2006 issue of HOW, recognizing printed pieces that exhibit the perfect harmony of printing, paper and design.

Any printed piece is eligible and may be submitted by the designer, printer, mill or paper merchant.

Judges will be looking for high production values, appropriate paper selection, ideal printing techniques and fine-quality finishes.

Additional entry forms are available at HOWdesign's website.

Any printed piece created and printed between January 1, 2005 and April 15, 2006 may be entered by the designer, printer, paper mill or merchant.

Entries must be postmarked by April 14, 2006.

Entries postmarked after that date must add $10 per entry.

Entries postmarked after May 1, 2006 will not be accepted.

Worldstudio AIGA Scholarship

Worldstudio AIGA Scholarship

Worldstudio Foundation in conjunction with AIGA provide scholarships to minority and economically disadvantaged students who are studying the design/arts disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States.

Among the scholarship's primary aims are to increase diversity in the creative professions and to foster social and environmental responsibility in the artists, designers and studios of tomorrow.

To this end, scholarship recipients are selected not only for their ability and their need, but also for their demonstrated commitment to giving back to the larger community through their work.

Basic scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $1000, $1500 and $2000.

One or two top awards are also given in the amount of $5000 at the jury's discretion.

These awards are paid directly to your school and applied toward tuition or other college expenses.

In addition, Honorable Mention prizes in the amount of $100 cash are awarded.

Entries will be evaluated by a jury of creative professionals appointed by Worldstudio Foundation and AIGA.

In selecting the winning entries, jurors will take into account a number of factors, including: quality of submitted work, financial need, minority status, academic record, recommendations, and strength of written Statement of Purpose.

Logo Design Competition for the Hong Kong Design Institute

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) is Hong Kong's biggest vocational education and training institution which provides job related training and education at the sub-degree level to 160,000 people every year mainly through its 9 IVE campuses, 15 Training and Development Centers, the School of Business and Information Systems and the Institute of Professional Education and Knowledge.

The VTC is bringing together its three strong design related departments, namely Design, Fashion & Textiles, and Printing & Digital Media, with a full time student population about 4000, to establish the "Hong Kong Design Institute" with a new look in a new location.

The purpose is to foster a synergy within the design disciplines and to further build a creative and dynamic teaching and learning environment, adding value to the services and opportunities to students so as to meet the future needs of the region's commercial and industrial infrastructure.

The Competition is open to all designers, design educators, design students, individuals, institutions, organisations and companies in Hong Kong and overseas.

All participants of the designs must be at least 18 years of age on the date the Entry Form is signed.

Paul Kiesche Design Wins NJYP's New Look

New Jersey Young Professionals, an organization that supports business networking for up and coming and established business professionals announced today that they have selected a winning design for the organizations new logo and identity design.

"We believe that Paul Kiesche Design best represented NJYP as the fun and young organization that it is. NJYP plans to continue working with Paul Kiesche Design, so be on the look-out!" said Laura Occhipinti founder of NJYP.

NJYP was created to provide social and networking opportunities throughout NJ for young professionals. Currently there are 5500+ members and 20-30 events per month.

Members are single, married, or in a relationship and are 21-39 years old.

Paul Kiesche Design, a full-service design and marketing firm located in Flanders NJ was selected from a large field of agencies and designers from across the state to create a new logo and identity for NJYP.
