 Join the Artec Project Art Contest by submitting the design you think would be perfect for an upcoming Artec Project snowboard model.
The team will look at each submission personally and choose the design he thinks best represents.
The winner will receive a custom-made snowboard with their own unique graphics on it.
For designs ranked 2nd and 3rd, they reserved one of the Artec Team Edition decks with personal tags of Anssi Manninen and Aleksi Vanninen on the visible wood core.
Only 250 of these gems will be available worldwide.
The deadline is 31 March 2006.

 Archive '06 is the premier Chicago Design competition, sponsored by The Society of Typographic Arts, who recognizes and promotes the outstanding achievements of the Chicago design community.
Selected work is based on design integrity and quality that reflect the richness and depth of Chicago design.
Archive '06 is open to Chicago professionals and students, agencies and corporations.
It is open to submissions designed January 2005 through March 2006.
The deadline is March 17, 2006 and the extended deadline is March 24, 2006.

 Temasek Design School is organizing a 3 days International Design Conference entitled Design Thinking & Innovation: Towards a Global/Asian Perspective, with Victor Margolin as the keynote speaker.
The conference runs from 29 - 31 March 2006.
Along with Victor Margolin are prominent speakers from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, Italy, USA and Finland.
This International Design conference is endorsed by the Japan Design Foundation, MICA and Design Singapore, IDSA USA.
The conference is organized in collaboration with CUMULUS, the European Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, a prominent design grouping for European design.
Asia and Asian designs are gaining a foothold in the international design arena.
With the rise of India, China and Asia as a region, the implications to design from new emergence viewpoint of the enormity of mega-sized consumer markets and low cost production capabilities are something that all designers cannot and must not ignore.
This conference has a focus on Asian Design Thinking but with a global perspective.

 Defining Design on Changing Planet will be the theme of the first ever Icograda Design Week to be held in the United States from 9-15 July 2006.
The University of Washington campus in Seattle will provide an ideal setting for this gathering of visual communications specialists from all over the world.
The week begins with a 4-day international Student Workshop.
Design students will join a small classroom environment led by leading design educators and practitioners.
You will workshop subject matter based on the UN Millennium Development Goals and the workshop results will be showcased during the Over the Fence Seminar.
Marisol Sanjines, a communications advisor with the UN's Human Development Programme, will introduce the student workshop theme and provide perspective on the UN's Millennium Goals.

 The free cultural paper Amsterdam Weekly publishes its 100th issue on Wednesday in a special comics issue exploring "The Past, Present and Future of Amsterdam".
Contributors include some of the city's top cartoonists, including Femke Hiemstra (with the paper's cover image), Erik Kriek, Wasco, Milan Hulsing, Maaike Hartjes, Mark Hendriks, Farida Laan, Floor de Goede and Peter van Dongen.
The issue is being curated by Tonio van Vugt, one of the founders of the influential Dutch comics journal Zone 5300. Over the years Zone 5300 has premiered some of the most innovative cartoonists working today.
One of the cartoon views of the future, drawn by Amsterdam artist Wasco, is a mock tourist board poster hyping "The Drowned City of Amsterdam."
