Bologna Children's Book Fair -2004

The world's leading children's publishing event, held each April in Bologna, Italy. 2004 will be its 41st edition and runs from 14-17 April.
Children's publishing involves many actors. Bologna is dedicated to providing all with the best possible business environment.
Each April, publishers, authors and illustrators, literary agents, TV/film producers, and many other members of the children's publishing community meet in Bologna to:
- buy and sell copyrights
- establish new contacts and strengthen their professional relationships
- discover new illustrators
- develop new business opportunities

Real Art For Real People - Invitation to AOI Members

This brand new and completely unique exhibition is a first for aspiring artists. A COMMISSION FREE gallery, set up to enable the best amateur artists to sell their works to a public audience over a week long exhibition. Drawing together a wide range of original, accessible and affordable work from talented but unknown living artists.
The first exhibition will be held between 4 October and 10 October 2004 at the Coningsby Gallery, Covent Garden, and will be a truly unique showcase of art which is intended to be enjoyed in the home - encompassing all styles and media, paintings, sculpture, drawings, print, embroidery and photography. There is space for several hundreds works by up to 60 artists. The exhibition will be curated by Barbara Jackson, practising artist and printmaker.

The European Illustrators Forum

The European Illustrators Forum (EIF) is a recently founded network so far consisting of 13 illustrators associations from 8 countries. It includes Aesopos from Greece, Associazione Illustratori from Italy, Association of Illustrators (AOI) from the UK, Grafill from Norway, Illustrators of Ireland, La Maison Des Illustrateurs from France, Svenska Tecknare from Sweden and the Spanish Federation (FADIP) which includes five regional associations from Madrid (APIM) Catalunia (APIC), APIE Basque Country (APIE) Galitia (AGPI) and Valencia (APIV).

Established largely thanks to Valencia's APIV, its aim is the safeguard of illustrators' rights and the continental promotion of illustration through the co-ordinated action of member associations on a local level, and with a series of common init

A recent batch of books surveys the vernacular streetscapes of Cuba, India, New York, Mexico, Egypt, Tokyo and elsewhere. Loopy cartoons
