Multiplicity & Visual Identities is an international postgraduate programme + think tank on corporate design and visual identity in hybrid societies.
Research Fellows and individual participants conduct project grounded research on contemporary design and communication strategies that focus on the omnipresent question for identity, design and cross cultural communication in hybrid societies.
You will expand your horizon by teaming up with an interdisciplinary group of local and multi-local experts, researchers and practitioners.
These are artists; authors; international operating designers and strategists; staff from supranational organizations; f.i. United Nations and Red Cross; specialists on governance and forerunners from law; economics; social science; urban and cultural studies.
From November 2008 until Summer 2009 Multiplicity & Visual Identities II will take place mainly in Zurich with some meetings in Amsterdam and Geneva.
Seven colloquia in which you will meet colleagues, designers, developers, commissioners and experts from various fields.
What will be in common is that everyone will address the contemporary question of identity, representation and communication in hybrid societies.

Internationally renowned design group, YouWorkForThem (YWFT) announced the release of their latest typeface, "Accidents Grotesque", in three weights: Light, Medium, and Bold.
This perfect hand-drawn realist sans-serif holds a deep and staggered breath, bringing forth a new realm of standards in type.
Accidents Grotesque takes advantage of the innovative OpenType format and includes multiple alternates and ligatures, so one can avoid the repetitive glyphs that often plague scripts and hand drawn typefaces.
Accidents is inspired on many levels by early san-serif fonts from the late 1800's.
This design of this "model sans serif" typeface releases all that associate with rigid standards of life.

Since 1959, Glendale Mall has been home to Wynkin, Blynkin and Nod, brass penguin characters based on a popular poem originally titled "Dutch Lullaby," written by Eugene Field in 1889.
To commemorate Glendale Town Center's expansive makeover and grand reopening, Indianapolis design company, Sandpaper Studio was commissioned to create a new environment for the penguin area.
Featuring a snow canopy over the penguin statues, iceberg blocks and a mix of playful and historic images from Glendale's past, the space creates an environment that celebrates the Center's historical community presence and its purpose in the future.
"Designers can make a social difference with local projects," states Torrey Dawley, owner of Sandpaper Studio," and we are really excited to be creating a new home for the penguins where they serve as symbols of community for another generation."
The grand reopening will unveil the public space on July 26 and will focus on celebrating the families of the community by featuring events for all ages throughout the center, including the newly-designed penguin area.

The special edition Green Issue of Widescreen magazine is now available for download from the Brandwidth website.
This month the publication has an environmental theme, leading with an article on the Gold Medal winning Green Room garden for Holiday Inn at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
Further eco-stories include the launch of Green Month for Toyota, along with an environmental wall graphic for the British International Motor Show and the recent nationwide experiential garden roadshow.
