YouWorkForThem (YWFT) announced the release of their latest typeface, "Black Slabbath", the heaviest typeface in the world.
Already starting to be used by a number of companies and design firms, Black Slabbath makes any text look delicious.
This colossally black typeface is the next big thing, with stylish geometric characters that create a juxtaposition of contrasts and rhythms.
Black Slabbath also takes advantage of the innovative OpenType format and includes ligatures and alternates.
This typeface is the brainchild of graphic designer Stefán Kjartansson, YouWorkForThem commissioned "Black Slabbath," nursing development of its painstaking drawing, kerning, and spacing to perfection over six months.
While most large type foundries are just companies trying to make a quick buck off of typographers, YouWorkForThem is run by designers, for designers, resulting in some of the most innovative and trend-setting work today.

Long-time University & College Designers Association (UCDA) members, and Kent State University Emeritus Professors of Visual Communication Design, j.Charles Walker and John Brett Buchanan announce the creation of the j.Charles Walker & John Brett Buchanan Foundation.
Walker and Buchanan have long been involved in and committed to UCDA and visual communication / design education.
Their new foundation, when fully funded by their estates in partnership with the UCDA Foundation, will provide scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in, and Kent State University alumni teaching in visual communication design at higher education institutions.
In addition it will also provide funds for the promotion of visual communication design education through the underwriting of programs and seminars developed, organized, directed and offered by UCDA and the UCDA Foundation.

Two Gazette designers have been honoured for their work by the international Society for News Design.
In its awards for 2007, the SND singled out Gazette designers Marie Cuffaro and Susan Ferguson for pages in the newspaper's Arts & Life and Travel sections.
Cuffaro won for an Arts & Life page that was an elegant presentation on the simple subject of tomatoes.
Ferguson's award came for a Travel section front page that provided a striking visual image on the theme of travelling with children.
"Both these pages are representative of the perfect marriage of content and visuals," said Nuri Ducassi, The Gazette's design director.
Members of The Gazette design team have won 33 SND awards in the past three years.
The awards of excellence were among 1,162 awards made by the SND to newspapers around the world for work done last year.
The competition recognizes excellence in newspaper design, graphics, illustration and photography.
The top winner was the Los Angeles Times and its magazines, with 109 awards, followed by the New York Times with 85.
