DMY is a platform for young creative and experimental concepts.
Over 150 international designers present their work in an exhibition area spanning 7000 sq. m. with an extensive supporting event.
Borderlines turn into interfaces, night turns into day.
The focal points "Designlabor" and "Schauraum" are rounded off with workshops and seminars, and find their most vivid expression in the "Klublabor" - the interplay of all elements as an event.
From May 21 - 25, 2008, young international design protagonists will gather once again in Berlin and introduce professionals as well as a highly diversified public to their latest inventions, while celebrating - in unique Youngsters-style - the DMY 2008 event with a 96-hour non-stop programme marathon.

A heavily armed freedom fighter in the Niger Delta stares angrily at the camera, his face hidden behind a black mask.
Is this a news story from the latest war zone?
No, it's the opening page to the book of Joshua - the Israeli warrior - in the new Bible Illuminated.
The Swedish-language Bible marries the standard text to glossy magazine-style design.
Full-color pages are illustrated with a striking combination of news and dramatized photographs: a homeless child wrapped in a sweater on the streets of Bogotá, Colombia, illustrates the book of Job; a man who drowned trying to enter Europe, for Deuteronomy; and models posing in stylized scenes convey joy or despair.
Bible passages are pulled out as captions.

The shootings on the campuses of Northern Illinois University and Louisiana Technical College this past week and the tragedy at Virginia Tech University last April have brought a shocking reminder of how an ordinary, daily event can turn into tragedy.
This tragedy illuminates, however, the generous human impulse to want to help those who have suffered loss.
In response to this tragedy, The University & College Designers Association is orchestrating a poster project.
UCDA is asking members and designers to design a poster that reflects some aspect of campus violence-the shock of the event itself, the heroism of the survivors, or the importance of crisis preparedness.
This summer, UCDA's Designer magazine will feature the posters, and include them on the UCDA website for viewing.
Each one-of-a-kind poster will also be on sale through an online auction.

Google announced the launch of "Doodle 4 Google," a competition that invites school children to design a Google logo inspired by the question, "What If...?"
The winning student's doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 22, 2008; the champion "doodler" will also win a $10,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant for his/her school.
The "Doodle 4 Google" competition is open to K-12 students in the U.S.
"Finding engaging projects that are aligned with core curricula and state standards is hard," said Kevin Jarrett, an elementary teacher from New Jersey.
"The Doodle 4 Google contest is a winner because it builds on the intersections of art, science, social studies and language arts, captures the imagination of students, and provides them with an opportunity to share their creativity with the world."
The customization of the Google logo started in 1999, and these "doodles" are now designed almost exclusively by Google Webmaster Dennis Hwang, whose work is seen by millions every time he exhibits on the Google homepage.
Dennis has creatively depicted worldwide events, anniversaries and holidays with doodles that incorporate the Google logo for the world of users to celebrate.
