CowParade IstanbulFollowing in the footsteps of Paris, London, Florence, New York and another 35 international cities, Istanbul hosts an edition of CowParade, the world's biggest public art event.
Around 150 life-size fibreglass cows, bizarely painted and decorated by local artists, celebrities and members of the community, are on display for 12 weeks in public spaces around Istanbul, from Nişantaşı to Maslak.
The event, initiated in 1998 by Swiss window dresser Walter Knapp, is aimed at promoting public art by mixing together creativity, business and local communities in an innovative partnership for the enjoyment and participation of all.
