Cobra Appoints Landor as New Design AgencyCobra Beer has named branding specialists Landor Associates as its new design agency.
Landor, Marketing magazine's Design Agency of the Year 2007 (as well as 2005 and 2001), was successful in a three-way paid pitch against Drink Works and Blue Marlin.
Cobra had previously worked with Williams Murray Hamm.
Landor will now work with Cobra's in-house Creative & Design Manager on all aspects of branding and design.
The agency's first assignment for Cobra will be to review the brand's labels and packaging for its Cobra 5% Premium, Lower Cal and 0.0% products ahead of a major push into the on-trade market.
Will Ghali, Marketing Director of Cobra Beer, commented on the appointment of Landor saying: "We were really impressed with Landor's pitch and it was a unanimous decision to appoint them.
Having already seen some of their ideas for the Cobra brand, we're excited and very much looking forward to building the Cobra brand further in partnership with Landor."
Derek Johnston, Creative Director at Landor Associates, added: "Packaging is a cut-through to decision-making for consumers, often the first moment of truth in making real brand connections.
We're very excited to be helping Cobra Beer realise its enormous growth potential."
