Baltimore County Logo Design Gives a Fresh Offical FaceBaltimore County has a fresh official face.
A newly designed county logo is like Donny and Marie Osmond „ a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll.
"It definitely has a fresh feel reflective of the county personality," Fronda Cohen, a spokeswoman for the county Department of Economic Development, said.
The new design is quietly making its appearance on banners and county documents.
David Iannucci, the county economic development director, said updating the logo coincides with the updating of brochures and other materials used by the department to promote the county to businesses.
The county paid Herrmann Advertising Design-Communicati on $22,375 to develop a package of marketing materials including brochures, photographs and the logo.
John Albert, an account manager at the Annapolis-based firm, said a logo can be "incredibly important" to a corporation or government department.
"Your logo is your brand," Albert said. "It's the first and sometimes the only thing people see about you. Before anyone ever opens up a brochure about Baltimore County, they are going to see that logo."
For most clients, the process begins with a simple interview in which the customer's history and goals are boiled down into key words that will be used by the artists who develop the logos.
