Observer Wins Design HonorsThe Observer earned 10 awards of excellence in the prestigious Society of News Design annual competition.
The paper earned five awards in photography, three in information graphics and two in design.
The winners are: Special news topics, editor's choice, sports; Coverage of the NCAA tournament, staff.
Multiple-page entry included the feature highlighting 64 fans, one for each team, and a special two-page keepsake of UNC's Final Four appearances, staff award.
