The American Design Awards announced the winners of its 2006 Summer Semi Annual Design Contest, which received well over 1,300 design entries from graphic and web designers from around the world; sixty three (63) awards in eighteen (18) categories were handed out.
"It sounds like a cliche, but every year it gets harder and harder to go through the hundreds of brilliant design entries only to pick a few to represent the best of the best" said Kevin Javid, vice president of the American Design Awards.
"From the time we received the first few entries, we knew we had our work cut out for us - and it didn't get any easier as the deadline approached."
Among the top winners of this event were Oxygen Channel's creative department (o2 Creative Services), Visuart, Plumbline Studios, Mackenzie, Boomm! Marketing, Mad Dog Graphx, and SouthLand Design Studio just to mention a few.
All designs were judged based on creativity, effectiveness, practicality and ethical design standards - implemented recently to encourage designers to abide by a set of moral and ethical guidelines which will only add value to the design industry in the long run.
