City Council to allow sidewalk art

The changing bronze sculptures will be installed on a pedestal outside downtown's Blue Creek Gallery.
The owner of a downtown art gallery will be allowed to display sculptures outside his Second Avenue business to enhance downtown and encourage community awareness of the arts.
Members of the Walla Walla City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a request by Ronald Dillow to install a pedestal outside his Blue Creek Gallery, 12 N. Second Ave.
The pedestal will hold bronze sculptures expected to be changed every four to six months.
"I think it's a good project, and I think it will enhance downtown,' Councilman Fred Mitchell said.
The project will cost the city nothing in capital or liability.
