This is a Book About Our Sounds of Silence

The book on the installation series "Sounds of Silence" continues the work of the artist-architect team Eichler/Kessler on a graphical and typographical level.

Designed by desres design group it is a graphic artwork by itself, without forcing the documentation of the project in the background.



Six partly attached, partly inserted booklets are held together by a multiply folded cover.

The work is completed with filmed documentation material on a DVD.

Text contributions by Christopher Hebel, Gerald Hintze, Markus Lepper, Ralf Schneider and Carl C Zillich.



The series of audio-visual installations "Sounds of Silence" by Petra Eichler und Susanne Kessler discloses the multiple qualities of silence by creating an environment in which the experience of silence is possible.

Their "forest installation" made of layered white paper cut-outs drew large attention in the international press, not least by the presentation for Droog Design at Milan's furniture fair 2006.
