3D Academy: Learn the Power of Three Dimensional Design

3D Academy aims to promote the use of three-dimensional computer design and simulation in entertainment, industry and education.
It comprises a three-day symposium in which expert researchers and companies present a slice of the myriad applications of 3D design, and two one-week workshops in which professionals from the audiovisual industry can learn basic techniques or extend and refine their expertise.
In the symposium, a select, international group of experts from private and public institutions present their experience in research, development and implementation of three-dimensional computer design and simulation solutions.
Fields of application include entertainment (game design, computer animation, special effects), visualisation (e.g. medical imaging), industrial design, education and training, virtual architecture and archaeology, and art production.
The primary aim of the symposium is to sketch an overview of what is possible in three-dimensional computer design and simulation, to draw an outline of its opportunities in various fields of industry and public services and to devise useful strategies for engaging in such an undertaking.
Thereby the main focus will be on facilitation rather than technology for its own sake.
