John Hockenberry to Moderate Second Annual Dwell on Design Conference + Exhibiti

John HockenberryMichela O'Connor Abrams, President and Publisher of Dwell, has announced plans for the second annual Dwell on Design Conference and Exhibition scheduled to take place at the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco the weekend of September 14-16, 2007. Highly acclaimed journalist John Hockenberry will moderate this year's one-and-a-half-day conference which kicks off a three-day weekend dedicated to exploring and celebrating what it means to build community in a modern world.

Conference
Bringing together product designers, innovators in green building practices, entrepreneurs in energy efficiency, artists, photographers, architects, landscape and interior designers, authors, historians, web designers, parents, students, and neighbors, this year's Dwell on Design Conference will unleash the ingenuity and commitment of people who are building community on a number of different fronts, each with an emphasis on strong design, sustainability and smart growth. John Hockenberry
John Hockenberry has won four Emmy awards, three Peabody Awards, and is a Distinguished Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab. He is a contributing editor for Wired and Metropolis magazines, and was recently named a contributor to Conde Nast's Portfolio. His father was an industrial designer at IBM, and then turned Steelcase into the company we know today. He has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, I.D., Wired, The Columbia Journalism Review, Details, and The Washington Post. His blog is called "The Blogenberry World."
