Research-Based Design Management: Brigitte Borja de Mozota
September 19, 2007 | Levent OZLER
Today, it is imperative that designers invent new territory for their profession and behave as knowledge actors in society.
In our changing world, design managers have a responsibility to take a proactive approach to contemporary management challenges.
Research in design management can provide useful models for practice, and enrich the process of managing design and the way in which the value of design to business is communicated and understood.
Design managers need to professionalize their design organization using research-based data and resource-based competitive strategies.
This seminar will select the most recent and interesting international doctorate work, including articles published in research journals and research conference proceedings, and summarize the results for management practice.
You will participate in exercises that will show you how to transform these scientific models into unique and innovative processes for your firm.
The seminar is for design managers and for managers (marketers, engineers, procurement, supply chain, finance, design entrepreneurs) and those responsible for the development of design in the organization.
