Aardman's juicy ad

Leading animation studio Aardman has produced a superbly engaging CG ad for drinks manufacturer, Robinsons. The sequence, entitled Boogie Juice, features great liquid and particle effects as the cordial combines with the liquid. Devised by ad agency BBH and executed by Aardman's in-house CG team, the innovative ad shows the cordial doing a charming little dance in the jug before merging with the water. Director Scott Pleydell-Pearce at Aardman says: "To create these complex effects we used Maya 5 and Adobe After Effects. The characters were first rendered with three passes and used in conjunction with Maya's fluid system to create our 'squash' look. To further enhance the integration and believability, dynamic forces were added to the characters' bones (rather like lots of electric fans),
