Glasbauspiel

April 7, 2004  |  bengisu yilmazturk

By Bruno Taut for Vitra
In his 1914 text, Glass Architecture, Taut espoused a glorious utopian vision of the Earth "adorned with sparkling jewels and enamel" as glass architecture supplanted masonry. Now Taut enthusiasts can make his vision a miniature reality, thanks to Vitra's reissue of this extremely rare set. Containing 64 glass blocks in five basic beveled shapes, the set is housed within an octagonal wood case that Taut also designed-which is where you'll want to keep them until your kids hit puberty.
