Who Saved All The Pies
June 15, 2003 | Gökhan
A pie holder to prevent football fans burning their fingers while enjoying the traditional half-time snack has been invented by a design student.
Jane Aukim devised the container after watching a fan drip gravy on a young supporter's head as he struggled to handle a piping hot pie.
The 19-year-old, who is in the final year of a Consumer Product Design course at Coventry University, hopes to patent the device and market it to clubs.
Jane, a Wolves fan from Stafford, experimented with different sizes of pie before opting for a circular-shaped container complete with a dome lid and a small hole so the pastry and filling can be nibbled at.
