Organic Fine Dining Comes to Hong Kong Designed by Fak3

Organic Fine Dining Comes to Hong Kong, Designed by Fak3

July 20, 2008  |  FAK3

FAK3 led by Johnny Wong and Miho Hirabayashi have recently designed a two storey chic organic fine dining restaurant and bar called Beo* (Beautifully Organic) in Hong Kong.

The restaurant/bar is split into two levels, the upper floor has a series of booth seating areas with a series of island tables made out of marble, accompanied with a collection of assorted styles of chairs.

Arriving in the main dining area of the restaurant, you must enter a sequence of spaces beginning with a striated travertine clad façade, which visually looks like an excavated section of earth.

Moving through the threshold, you will experience an organic formed space with a gently undulating corridor with sheer white drapery on either side steers guests into the open dining room with a view out the back towards green foliage.

The central feature to the dining space is an island bar in a white high gloss finish constructed out of FRP, to give its smooth liquid form.

Overhead is a chandelier like form assembled out of wine glasses, with back lighting, illuminating the whole sculptural piece like a glass cloud.

A whimsical touch in the washrooms is a six point star light which is the logo for the Beo* brand, that gives guests the impression of having stars in their eyes, when they view themselves in the mirror.

The Basement level is the signature space; a stone clad staircase, led by a twisted balustrade that descends into a white 'shell-like' cavern, which is the lounge and bar.
