UK Young Design Entrepreneur Award

UK Young Design Entrepreneur Award

July 21, 2008  |  Levent OZLER

The UK Young Design Entrepreneur Award is the newest award in the British Council's Young Creative Entrepreneur programme.

Created by the British Council in partnership with the Cultural Leadership Foundation, the award recognises the potential of an individual, aged between 25 and 35, working within the design industry, to be a future leader of the sector in the UK, and indeed internationally.

The winner of the award and two runners-up will visit India in early 2009, to find out about India's design industry, meet leading industry figures, and learn, first hand, about the dynamics of the sector and how business is done there.

There are now nine international awards, for young creative entrepreneurs in the communications, design, fashion, interactive, music, performing arts, publishing, screen and visual arts sectors.

The breadth of these awards ensures that all of the creative industries are covered by this programme.

UKYDE is one of nine awards for young creative entrepreneurs that are being developed by the British Council with support from NESTA, the Cultural Leadership Programme, trade associations and professional bodies within the creative sector.
