The winners of the 2008 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) are named: the SOLUTIONS Branding & Design Companies AG obtained one of the eligible Silver IDEA Awards '08 for their TakeOff children buggy. Being one of the world's most prestigious design competitions the 2008 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA), presented by IDSA and co-sponsored by BusinessWeek, again assembles the most innovative and exciting product and product concept designs from all over the world.
The TakeOff is particularly to be characterized by it's convenient handling - in just two simple steps the patented mechanism allows you to fold the buggy into a trolley and therewith it is the ideal companion for families who travel a lot. Another advantage: Through the lightweight aluminium frame the own weight had been minimized. Furthermore the swivelling and lockable front wheels allow an easy steering. The innovative and surprising design underlines the sportive character of this agile, nimble and ergonomic buggy. That these advantages persuade is to be shown by another two notable awards. It had been decorated with the iF product design award 2007 and nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2008.The expert jury, comprised of 20 world-renowned designers and design thinkers, spent weeks previewing entries online. At least they had to sort and evaluate 1517 entries from USA and 25 other countries. Two-and-a-half days of intense, face-to-face evaluation and debate on IDEA followed until the winners had been determined: 35 were awarded the coveted Gold award, while 76 received Silver awards and 94 won Bronze awards.
