August 14, 2008 | Levent OZLER
Eco-friendly architects and architecture students have a shot at US$33,000 from the FuturArc Award, an international contest for green construction design.
First, candidates may design an office building and urban park on a real plot of land west of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
Second, they can create a community center for a green future in their home country, presenting the form, space and activities suitable to the project synopsis, construction site and local climate.
An international judging panel of green building experts will choose the winners based on their strategy and use of green technology towards a user-friendly architecture in line with their sociocultural background.
The deadline is Dec 12, 2008, with the winner announced on March 31, 2009.
