Arts of Fashion 2008: SF Under Creative Fashion's Influence

The Arts of Fashion 2008 will bring an international collection of fashion, art, ideas, and talents to San Francisco on October 25-29 at the Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) while the De Young Museum prepares the Nov. 1 public opening of the first retrospective covering Yves Saint Laurent's 40 years of creativity.
The Arts of Fashion Foundation invites the public to an exciting mix of debates, seminars, and presentations of collections including three New York based rising talents participating in the Debut Series (sponsored by YKK of America) and two rising stars featured in the CarteBlanche Series: Cathy Pill - invited guest of the Paris Haute Couture Presentations and Isabelle Steiger from Vienna - Hyeres International Fashion Festival 2008.
In addition, the main focus of the event will be the entries by 68 fashion students selected for the final from 79 different fashion Schools and Universities from 23 different countries.
These designers will present their creations related to this year's theme 'Influence' in the frame of a unique fashion show and display at the SFMOMA on Wed. October 29.
Students selected by the professional international jury in San Francisco will be awarded with internships in prestigious and creative Fashion Houses such as as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Anne-Valerie Hash and Natalia Brilli in Paris, Veronique Branquinho in Antwerp and Wendy & Jim in Vienna.
