Veteran compositor, visual effects artist and editor Ralph Scaglione has launched FLYfx, the effects and finishing company housed in the award-winning editorial/post house thePound @ SoundHound, the editorial arm of SoundHound, New York.

Prior to opening FLYfx, Scaglione was the go-to guy for top finishing houses like Berwyn, RIOTManhattan, Version2, Napoleon Group, Technicolor, Cut & Run and Madhouse, working on spots for such brands as Jaguar, Coke Zero, Dell Computers, Samsung, Dos Equis, Pantene and Lee Jeans.

"FLYfx gives me the chance to use my 25 years of experience and a unique combination of the most powerful tools in the industry to offer clients a whole new approach to VFX that will create visual effects magic and rock their world," Scaglione said.

Scaglione launched FLYfx with a brand-new Autodesk Smoke 2009 2K Suite featuring the latest Sapphire and Furnace plug-ins.

"We can now efficiently take the Smoke's timeline assets directly into the Flame's batch mode all in one software package," says Scaglione.

"These tools are, in a word: awesome."

In addition, the numerous resources at thePound enable Scaglione to combine the Smoke 2009 tools with uncompressed HD Avid.
