French School of Design Opens in China
October 22, 2008 | Levent OZLER
L'Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique opened its first foreign subsidiary institution in Qingdao, China, in collaboration with the Pays de la Loire regional authorities and the Nantes Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on September 13, 2008.
In L'Ecole de design's Chinese subsidiary French and Chinese design students willing to work for and within Chinese markets will have the opportunity to attend a two-year course leading to a Master's Degree in design.
This initiative is a response to the increasing number of foreign companies seeking to settle in China who are faced with the difficulty of recruiting employees on-site.
Indeed how can one hire a skilled designer that will prove able to adjust to Chinese markets and customs?
The main goal of the new program launched by L'Ecole de design in China is to fill this gap by training designers with an expertise in Chinese markets.
Upon completion of this course French students will attain the Designer's Degree delivered by L'Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique (equivalent to a Masters level).
