Catalyst Studios Releases New Spot in Award-Winning Art for All Campaign for Target
October 31, 2008 | Levent OZLER
Leading digital and interactive agency Catalyst Studios has released its latest spot, "Art Interacts" as part of the Art for All campaign created for Target.
To date, the campaign has been honored with awards by Communication Arts, ID, and HOW magazines, as well as the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, AdFed and the Association of Independent Commercial Producers.
The iconic Target bullseye is the star of Art Interacts, taking the audience on a journey into the DNA of the bullseye and discovering a world of never-ending activity.
Inside this world, individual logos reveal animated, silhouetted figures performing athletic and artistic feats.
Joyfully, the figures circle around, choreographed to a backdrop of original, circus-inspired music that includes a playful nod to Take Me Out to the Ball Game.
New York-based graphic live action and motion design firm Eyeball brought Catalyst Studio's concept for Art Interacts to life using Adobe CS 3 on Apple Quad Core Macs, creating both 2D and 3D characters.
From there, they used 3D Studio Max and Adobe After Effects to create the individual character animations and completed final editing with Apple's Final Cut Pro.
The playful music was directed by Alex Moulton of Expansion Team and written by the same composer who created the music for Ringling Brothers' newest extravaganza and also arranged orchestration for Cirque Du Soleil.
