Trove Receives Good Design Award for Hitchcock-Inspired Wallcovering
January 9, 2009 | Levent OZLER
Trove, an ingenious design company known for its unique nature-inspired products, has been honored by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design with a Good Design Award in the Graphics category for its cutting-edge Indi wallcovering.
A graphic tribute to film luminary Alfred Hitchcock, Indi feels like an action shot of a flock of birds in flight and conjures up visions of the great filmmaker's masterpiece, The Birds.
The intertwining pattern is formed by groups of blackbirds in motion, not in an orderly fashion, but randomly bumping into each other, falling over one another, and attempting to catch up with the rest of the flock.
Indi is an authentic representation of the spontaneous and unpretentious splendor of the natural world.
Good Design is the oldest and most prominent awards program of its kind, and was founded in 1950 by Edgar J. Kaufmann, Jr. Indi was selected from among hundreds of submissions from 48 countries.
Winning designs will be on display on the museum's website, as well as at the Good Design Show in Chicago, IL.
