Priestmangoode Wins Major Transportation Contract to Design Latest High Speed Train for China

Priestmangoode Wins Major Transportation Contract to Design Latest High Speed Train for China

January 12, 2009  |  Levent OZLER

Priestmangoode has won the contract to design one of the most advanced and fastest high speed train in the world.

Designed for new high speed rail lines in China including the new Beijing - Shanghai line for the Sifang Locomotive Company in China.

The project is to design the nose, exterior and the entire interior of the train.

The design challenge is to design the iconic symbol of modern China in the same way that the image of the bullet train in front of Mount Fuji has come to represent Japan.

"This is a once-in-a-time opportunity to design a train which will step ahead of the competition around the world defining the future of High Speed Trains," said Paul Priestman.

"It is a great honour to be working with a renowned manufacturer such as Sifang and we look forward to delivering a world-leading design for China."
