UK Customers to Benefit as IDC Opens Hong Kong Office

Datchet-based Industrial Design Consultancy Ltd. (IDC) has recently consolidated its international strengths by opening an office in Hong Kong. With new clients already on its books, Chinese businesses are welcoming the company's proven product design and innovation skills to make their own products world class. But UK customers looking to design and develop high quality products in China will also benefit from the move, taking advantage of IDC's invaluable access to local support and knowledge.
IDC has a long history of working internationally with UK clients, from sourcing materials and manufacturers, to project managing the complete development of a product from design to manufacture. The Hong Kong office will provide a permanent presence in China, increasing the company's local knowledge and access to all-important networks which aid in the process of design and manufacture.
IDC's Managing Director, Stephen Knowles, explains, "This is particularly useful to companies outside China. Anyone who has visited on business will know that there is a great emphasis on face-to-face contact in China, through building trust and loyalty. We have found that on-the-ground support delivers the best results for clients looking to move into Chinese markets. With an international team now working in the epicentre of business in Hong Kong, UK companies can reap the benefits and gain strong footholds in the market."
Last year IDC was hand-picked by the Department of Trade & Investment (UKTI) to join a team of 12 leading British designers to capitalise on a £3billion emerging market in China. The company's experience won the day, as well as its capacity to design, engineer and short-run manufacture under one roof in a range of market areas, from consumer, medical and commercial to industrial. Its selection has also boosted its profile in China and brought about new opportunities for IDC's UK customers.
