Vier5

March 23, 2009  |  Levent OZLER

Marco Fiedler and Achim Reichert from Paris-based design team Vier5 seeks to explore the possibilities of creating what they call "new forward-looking images in the field of visual communication".

The mainstay of Vier5's design is cutting-edge typography.

Adamant about creating and applying their own contemporary typefaces for each project and client, their unique letterforms have a carefree and often inconsistent appearance.

Many look hand-drawn, scribble-like and others are pixilated or have a strong geometric element but essentially, they possess a disproportionate and slightly off-balance form that is atypical in classic typography.

This book presents a collection of photographs, posters and visual identity projects they've done for forward thinking clients such as the Museum for Applied Art, Frankfurt, the Center for Contemporary Art, Bretigny as well as the contemporary art exhibition Documenta XII.

Vier5 are not your average design collective.

They also publish the independent fashion, photography, graphic design and art magazine Fairy Tale (FT) and run their own fashion label Vier5fashion department.
