Luigi Colani Action Figures

Luigi Colani Action Figures

A Japanese web site dedicated to the designs of Luigi Colani, has commissioned a series of ten 12-inch action figures as a tribute to the great man. Professor Luigi Colani, now 80 years old, was the original "design superstar" from the 1970's. Colani has been causing controversy and creating his bio-inspired designs for over half a century. Kojun, a well know figure sculptor from Korea, was specially commissioned to sculpt the figure. Such collectable figures are very popular in Japan and elsewhere, but are more usually based on game or movie characters rather than industrial designers. The series is limited to just ten examples, and Professor Colani will be presented with serial number 01.

Luigi Colani Action Figures

Kojun is widely recognized as the finest sculptor of 12-inch action figures in the world, and his attention to detail and incredible realism is well known. Figures sculpted by Kojun are highly collectable as pieces of art in their own right, and sell for high prices. Another well-known Korean figure artist, HA-RUE Creative, designed the clothes for the Colani figures. The figures are dressed in the typical all white Colani uniform of pullover, scarf, trousers and clogs. The figure also wears a Colani designed SwissAir coat, and is accessorized with a Colani watch, cigar, and a 1973 Colani multi-functional chair. The figure comes with a display base, a numbered certificate, and a dedicated presentation box.
