Conservation and Sustainability Conflict or Opportunity

Conservation and Sustainability: Conflict or Opportunity

June 3, 2009  |  Levent OZLER

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland presents one-off special CPD event, chaired by RIAS President David Dunbar.

This is an opportunity to review some of the latest Scottish and international thinking on the energy efficient adaptation of Scottish historic estate.

Reconciling the need to sensitively conserve Scottish built heritage with sustainability and energy efficiency is one of the greatest contemporary challenges for the architectural profession.

This event draws upon the expertise of four internationally recognised individuals whose influence in practice, innovation and legislation is crucial towards ensuring a sustainable future for the past.

The recent announcement of Scotland's new energy regulations and the RIAS new / updated accreditation schemes in sustainability and conservation make this event particularly timely.
