BDI Team Grows with Two New Staff Appointments
October 15, 2009 | Levent OZLER
British Design Innovation has welcomed two new members of staff to its Brighton head office.
Kate Wilson and Jessica Stead will share the position of PA/Membership Services Administrator by working part-time in job-sharing roles.
Born in the UK, Kate Wilson lived in Hong Kong for 14 years before returning to Brighton in 2003.
She graduated with a 2:1 for her BSc in Product Design in June, working with charities, medical associations and manufacturing companies to develop an innovative braking system for manual wheelchairs - her final year project, which was exhibited at the New Designers showcase in London.
Kate intends to bring her communication and project management skills to her new position while freelancing as a CAD software consultant outside of BDI.
"I am excited to be working for such an established and respected organisation as British Design Innovation," she said.
Jessica Stead commenced work with BDI on Tuesday 13 October, providing administrative support to the organisation's CEO Maxine Horn, its directors and members.
A graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA Hons in Moving Image Production, Jessica is an independent film-maker who has also worked as a production assistant in television and in a sales-oriented role in the recruitment industry.
This new position with British Design Innovation marries both her enthusiasm for art and design and her keen interest in business.
