RTT Emerging Technology Contest and RTT Funky Visualization Contest

RTT announced two international student competitions: the RTT Emerging Technology Contest and the RTT Funky Visualization Contest.

In partnership with renowned graphics card producer NVIDIA, the 4th annual RTT Emerging Technology Contest provides students with a platform to showcase their best 3D visualization projects and better understand how that work meets the demands of the market. The contest focuses on innovative technological processes and methods in the field of real time high-end visualization.

As the market continually demands new, creative ideas in addition to advanced technology, RTT has partnered with graphics hardware specialist Wacom to create the RTT Funky Visualization Contest. While the Emerging Technology Contest focuses on technology projects in the areas of 3D visualization, interfacing and simulation technologies, the Funky Visualization Contest is open to all forms of 2D and 3D visualization and focuses on actual results the technology produces.

The submission deadline for both competitions is March 26, 2010.

Winners of the RTT Emerging Technology Contest will receive NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics cards, and winners of the RTT Funky Visualization Contest will each receive an Intuos4 Medium tablet from Wacom. In addition to prizes, winners will have the opportunity to present their ideas and visions in front of a global audience of industry leaders at the international RTT Excite conference May 6-7, 2010, in Munich.

"These contests provide an ideal platform for new talent wanting to present their work and test their abilities in the market," said RTT USA CEO Jeroen Snepvangers. "Through this competition, the next generation of 3D talent can meet and exchange ideas with 'shining stars' in the fields of 3D visualization and animation. RTT provides the tools with which new forms of communication can be developed, but the students add creativity and artistic performance to deliver outstanding visualizations."

Both competitions are open to universities, research teams and students across the globe. Work submitted does not need to be created specifically for the competition; ongoing student projects also are welcome. Entries to both competitions can be submitted online at www.rtt.ag and via the communications platform www.rttopen.com.
