Compensation payout for utility after design fraud

June 21, 2003  |  De

The company that designed the logo for the Northern Territory Power and Water Corporation will pay it $100,000 compensation, after acknowledging it copied the design.

The Darwin company, Ark Creative, was commissioned to design the logo in 2001.

Legal proceedings against the company began 11 months later after it was revealed the design provided was not original.

Under a settlement Ark Creative has until the end of September to pay the money.

The company has also issued a public apology to the corporation.
