Designing the Future: How Technology is Changing the Design Process

Desktop Engineering magazine, published by Helmers Publishing Company today announced that it will present a webcast on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 on the hot topic "Designing the Future: How technology is changing the design process." Design analysis developer COSMOS will sponsor the event in conjunction with SolidWorks Corp.

The one hour panel discussion will take place at 1:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time, 10:00 am Pacific Daylight Time. Tony Lockwood, editorial director of Desktop Engineering, will moderate the discussion. Design and analysis experts participating on the panel: Vince Adams, director of Analysis Services for Impact Engineering, Peter Berg, Design Engineering manager for Texas Instruments, Raymond Kurland, president of the market research and consulting firm TechniCom, and Steve Hess, MCAD manager for Teradyne, Inc.

The webcast will focus on today's ever-increasing need for design engineers to perform as both designers and engineers, and how the early and frequent use of computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools are improving design, reducing errors, and getting better products to market more quickly.
