Hotel MdR Marina del Rey

Hotel MdR Marina del Rey

Indidesign recently designed the exterior, lobby, bar, restaurant, and outdoor living space of the newly renovated Hotel MdR Marina del Rey - a DoubleTree by Hilton. Indidesign's concept features a unique interpretation of West Coast lifestyle to the increasingly popular Marina del Rey area.

The experience begins at the porte cochere entrance. Guests seamlessly flow through the entrance into the lobby lounge. An open floor plan inspired by urban loft living blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. Evolving from the outdated business centers, Hotel MdR Marina del Rey - a DoubleTree by Hilton features a tech lounge that connects the lobby and bar areas where power outlets are seamlessly integrated into the furnishings throughout the entire ground floor. The indoor/outdoor restaurant beckons guests to one of the property's most stunning features, an outdoor living room and pool outfitted with tree lights, area rugs, cozy seating alcoves, firepits and layered lighting.

Grey cementlike flooring with deep yellow and dark navy accent hues set a relaxed yet upbeat vibe within the hotel's public spaces. Metal murals and sculptural resin reception desks are playfully mixed with reclaimed wood. Many of the surface treatments employed were custom conceived by Indidesign and infuse the space with playful personality. The design balances the West Coast lifestyle, where technology is deeply embedded in the culture, with the laidback, carefree beach lifestyle. This unique and forward design approach, supported by the Hilton brand, ensures consistency in the guest experience across properties, yet pays tribute to Marina del Rey's identity.
