In Celebration of 150th Anniversary, Leading Watchmaker Teams Sponsors Competition to Conceptualize the Future of Timekeeping.
Winners from the global design competition, "TIMEX 2154: Future of Time," have been selected in three categories: wrist-based, wearable and conceptual. French-born Cristophe Koch's "Time-Aid", "Sticker Watch" from Russia's Alexey Koptev and "Energistime" -- a concept by a team of French design students including Francois Lane, Nicolas Montabone and Francois Gustin - were selected as grand prize winners respectively.
To celebrate its 150th Anniversary and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to design and innovation, Timex partnered with Core77 to create this competition, challenging design enthusiasts to interpret timepieces in the year 2154. Over 3,700 registrations from countries around the world were received over the one-month entry period, which invited designers to explore and visualize personal and portable timekeeping 150 years from now. In total, designers from 72 countries submitted designs via Core77.com. One grand prize and three runners-up were selected in each category with grand prize winners receiving $5,000.
