Liquidlibrary Annual Design Competition Winners Announced

October 20, 2004  |  Levent OZLER

Dynamic Graphics Group announced that Eileen Kotak, a designer at Newsday, was the grand prize winner of its liquidlibrary Annual Design Competition.

The contest, which was open to current subscribers to the liquidlibrary stock media site, required that all entries include at least one image from the liquidlibrary subscription service and must have been created within the past 12 months.

Judges for the competition were liquidlibrary's own design directors, Mary Brophy, Melissa Stauffer and Steve Justice, as well as content directors Corey Smith and Jim Mistic.

Kotak's winning entry used multiple programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark, to build a project commemorating the end of slavery in Texas. Her winning design was joined by other top finishers such as first place winner Nancy O'Donnell with her powerful 'Support Our Troops' project and second place winner Teresa Scroger, with an imaginative Christmas box creation.

Being able to offer inspiration in the form of 300 new images a month, and access to over 75,000 high resolution, royalty-free photos and illustrations, is a win not only for our competition entrants and finalists, but for all subscribers to liquidlibrary,R 21; said John Amone, editor of liquidlibrary.
