BMW Williams' Fashion Statement
February 20, 2005 | Levent OZLER
The season kicks off on the catwalk - the four new merchandising lines of the BMW WilliamsF1 Team were presented at a major fashion show and party held in Munich yesterday.
Among those attending were BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen and BMW WilliamsF1 Team driver Mark Webber. The Australian was showcasing his own product line, which will allow his devotees to display their allegiance in full colour.
The days when fans had to settle for traditional accoutrements such as baseball caps and scale models are past. The BMW WilliamsF1 Team Collection 2005 features sporty, practical men's wear from T-shirts to jackets, as well as high quality, figure-hugging ladies' wear. A highlight in the truest sense of the word is a sleeveless top with sparkling Swarovski stones, while the line also includes warm clothing for ladies who follow the races.
To round off the Team Collection is a range of accessories covering scale models, children's toys, including a bicycle with helmet, a comprehensive range of luggage - and those obligatory baseball caps.
The Mark Webber BMW WilliamsF1 Team Drivers' Collection adds a new splash of colour to the palette. Australia's national colours green and yellow, which are also form the basis of his self-designed logo, add a bright and breezy touch to the range of women's and men's clothing.
