Sustainable Design with an Edge

Junkyard Wars meets HGTV in a hot rod styled fire pit made from recycled steel.
Each Great Bowl O' Fire is hand cut from scrapped propane tanks.
There's a poetry to this that just makes me giggle... using a torch to cut flame designs into a tank that held flammable gas in order to hold bonfires. That's kind of layered metaphor I enjoy most about working with reused or recycled materials.
Made from 100% recycled materials, the design scores high on sustainability in other ways as well. The warm rust finish requires zero maintenance while quarter inch thick steel insures the bowl will last generations in any climate. The heavy steel holds and radiates heat like a wood stove, providing more warmth for less fuel.
The raised bowl allows you to warm your feet beneath it and lets users to sit more comfortably without hunching towards the fire. The 37 inch diameter bowl is large enough to warm a sizable crowd. Air flow and water drainage are provided by a small vent in the center of the bowl.
